feasibility assessments and due diligence reports for a number
of continuing clients including large specialist investment
groups, capital services groups, and unit trusts.
|
|
Diagnostic
Reviews and Strategy Development
|
|

|
SRHS
has reviewed a range of horticultural and agribusiness
operations that
needed to make long term decisions or were not meeting performance targets. SRHS has developed
strategies specifically tailored to best meet their short and
long term needs.
|
|
Business
Recovery

SRHS
has a joint venture with a viticultural management company to
provide a complete business recovery service including
diagnostic review and development and implementation of a
recovery plan. This service can be extended to other
horticultural enterprises.

Orchard,
Vineyard and Vegetable Crop Problem Solving
|
|
|
SRHS
has regular clients (large and small, throughout Australia)
who grow winegrapes, almonds, pistachios, pecans, citrus, vegetables
and cut flowers. We do 'one-off' problem solving and property
assessment projects across the horticultural industries.
Specific advice can be tailored to individual needs (eg pest
and disease control, soil and fertiliser management).
Annual or more frequent property visits and on the spot reviews
of technical aspects of production (eg herbicide program,
irrigation) can be arranged.
|
Plant
Breeders Rights (PBR)
|
|
We have helped gain registration for new cultivars of roses
and other ornamentals, grapes, cherry rootstocks, vegetables
and potatoes, some developed by Australian breeders and others
from overseas. We act as Qualified Persons in provisional and full applications
for Plant Breeders Rights for a range of species.

Soil
Management and Fertiliser Advice
|
|
|
Sustainable horticultural practice involves minimising unnecessary
fertiliser inputs to the soil and maintaining or improving soil
structure. We provide an independent fertiliser advisory service based
on plant tissue and soil analysis for the complete range of
horticultural crops.
|
Training
and Quality Assurance (QA)
|
|
Often training packages and
QA systems for horticulture and
viticulture are too general. We can provide inputs which enhance
the impact of such packages by tailoring them to specific
situations.
|
|
|
|
|
For
sustainability and to produce quality, intelligent monitoring is
important. For smaller jobs we have in house soil surveying
capability.
On larger jobs, we work with specialist soil surveyors to provide
reconnaissance or detailed site assessments. The level of input
can be negotiated to suit clients' needs. Such surveys are the best basis for development of irrigation
and drainage management plans (IDMP) suited to the soils and
topography of a site.
Soil analysis is used to assess the need for basal nutrient
applications in both annual and perennial horticultural crops.

|
|
|
|
Grape quality has become an increasingly important
issue for
growers who want to meet specifications, ensure marketability, and
ensure best prices for their crop. Objective information, when
combined with local block knowledge, provides the ability to
make informed management decisions. We have helped a number of clients with assessing block
variability for improved yield estimation. In addition
our bud fruitfulness dissection service has proved
helpful in aiding pruning decisions.

Technical
Package Services for Vineyards and Orchards
|
|
|
An
annual package of services provides a cost-effective way for
growers and managers to have access to our team. We have
tailored packages of services to suit a number of our grape,
almond, pistachio and olive clients in several states which
include regular visits at critical growth stages, tissue and
soil analysis, phone contact and travel. A fixed annual fee is
paid quarterly.
